What a pleasure it is to present this RARE
and Gorgeous Antique hinged bracelet. From my personal collection, they are
becoming increasingly rare as time goes by - this is not to be missed! It is
beautifully styled appearing as a “bypass” or “crossover” bracelet due to the
way in which the “arms” are aligned parallel, “passing” each other although it
is hinged. Each arm is plain with three solid beads featured at the centre.
Each culminates with a fancy finial or capping with Etruscan inspired detailing
which is typically characterised by minute beads or coils of gold soldered onto
a gold background, forming a pattern. The superb Etruscan decoration is
reminiscent of the old fashioned lace work on a Wedding cake! Please enlarge
the pictures for a close-up look of the work crafted by hand around 130 years
ago!
It has elongated oval shaping so is very comfortable to wear as
it will not spin around. The hinge and clasp are in excellent working order. There
is a safety chain, too.
COLOUR
The body of the bracelet
has a rose gold hue which is a lovely contrast to the yellow gold hues
Etruscan work. It has that silky smooth feel usually only associated with solid
carat gold which is to be expected of quality antique jewellery.
